If yes, then you don't want to use this account anyway. The Guest account is a special system account, not one meant for when you are feeling hospitable. Call the new user account something like "Visitor". The Visitor account will be able to get to the Internet. The only way I have found to do it is by going into the "share" properties and adding "everyone" Itseems that it leaves the folders wide open but it works.
I have not tried it, but perhaps you could add a completely new user on all the computers, with any name , Al Budi, for example. It should achieve the same result as my suggestion. Sharing is set to Everyone and I have tried new identical accounts on each PC. I have been playing around with some other ideas. I just read one on the Ms forum which looks promising, I have tried it with a small folder and it was OK. After creating the folder in the correct location, you still have to right click and assign the share properties to it.
Windows does not automatically assume it to be shared just because it is in the Public folder. Thanks for this. You actually need to set the sharing to a private network then you can open your files up to every user on the computer and the network. Thanks Pfogle. Download and install the latest Windows Vista x64 64 bit or Windows XP x64 printer drivers from the printer manufacturer. Connect to the shared printers and try printing to them. Instead of installing the printer drivers from the print server your Windows XP machine , Windows Vista should instead use the locally installed drivers.

I setup an account with a password on the XP machine and did as you suggested but it still gives the same result. File shares can be accessed and files written and read but it makes no difference to the printer access. Saturday, August 12, AM.
